Go Wellington


PROJECT DETAILS:
The Go Wellington initiative is a new iteration of the Wellington Wine Route, combined with the promotion of the town and related tourism & wine-tourism offerings. Having used some of the previously created iconography of the Wellington Wine Route logo, the new logo retained aspects of this logo to communicate an essence of continuity.
By using a location marker as the circular part of the lowercase ‘G’, the icon communicates that the initiative revolves around ‘Destination Marketing’. The church is one of the most well known landmarks in the town, while green radial lines in the background represent the vineyards in the area. The ‘tail’ of the lowercase ‘G’ is bowl shaped, with overlapping circles ‘filling’ this area. This can be interpreted as red wine swirling in a glass, or a basket of grapes heading to the cellar during harvest time.
